How to Improve Your Chances of a Quick Sale of Your Miami Home

by Isaac Benmergui, Esq on October 4, 2012

Location may be everything, but so are appearances. Having a home “move-in” ready will improve your chances for a quick sale by making the property more attractive to potential buyers. Before you slap the ‘for sale’ sign on your Miami home, attractive, consider the following improvements that could add thousands to your home’s valueand sale price!

  • Give every room a new coat of paint. Strip wallpaper. People want to envision their own color palette. Choose light, neutral colors.
  • Update kitchen cabinets and appliances. Nothing dates a kitchen faster than old cabinets and old, mismatched appliances.
  • Use social media to advertise your home. Get on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Google+. Post updates, pictures, blog about your progress.
  • Investigate what a reasonable price for your area would be. You don’t want to price yourself out of the market.
  • If you have an indoor pet, ask a friend to come over and sniff around. You don’t want potential buyers smelling something that you can’t simply because you’ve gotten use to the odor. If need be, get the carpets cleaned.
  • Clean out the junk from inside and around your home. Clutter is unattractive and makes spaces seem smaller. Potential buyers will probably open cupboards so make certain yours are organized.
  • Put a shine on all your fixtures; turn on all the lights when showing your home. Light opens up the space and makes it appear more expansive, and the buyer will feel they are getting more for their money.
