Miami House Flipping is Popular Again

by Isaac Benmergui, Esq on October 17, 2012

Florida is second only to California in the number of homes flipped since the beginning of the year. The popular trend where buyers purchase a home for a low cost, fix up the property and then sell it for a profit is popular again, and Miami ranks second in the nation for the number of flipped homes since January of this year.

With the real estate market showing signs of health and recover across the nation, the numbers of flipped homes rose 25 percent from one year ago, with an average profit on each home of $29,342, according to RealtyTrac. The markets that were hit the hardest by the real estate bust are the ones with the highest number of recently flipped homes as investors bought low and are now selling high. States with the warmer climates are seeing the most activity.
