YachtBefore the real estate market tanked, the plans for Biscayne Landing project included several tower for a total of 3,400 units. After the market crashed in 2005, plans were put on hold and eventually scaled back to two towers.

Now it seems, the original plan is going through.

Trucks and cranes have been spotted on the site, and according to the Biscayne Times, developers are going to first begin by filling landfills, lakes and ponds on the 9.3 acre property.

The project manager, Oleta Partners wants to build the original total of 3,400 residential units along with retail sections. The ambitious plan, however, will need capital in order to complete its phased construction over a 15-year period, which may top a billion dollars.

In addition to the residences, Biscayne Landing wants to bring big box retail stores to North Miami as well as a luxury car dealership, rumored to be situated on the route into the Landing.
