Why Should You Have Renter’s Insurance?

Risk -blocks on ball smallerOut of the millions of occupied rental units in the State of Florida, little more than 10 percent have rental insurance on them. Why is that? It’s a pretty good deal when you look at it; the cost is only about $20-40 a month, and the policy could save you thousands in the long run.

What are some of the benefits and protections of renter’s insurance?

If you have to temporarily move while your unit is being repaired, your living expenses would be covered. If someone breaks into your car and steals covered items, most renter policies cover the loss. If a person, or their property, is injured while they’re on your property, you’re covered.

Look around your dwelling. Do you own a flat-screen TV? A laptop? A tablet computer? A smartphone? Imagine having to replace all your electronics at once. Even without  a lot of expensive items, renter’s insurance can protect you from big costs that have nothing to do with the loss of property and buy you peace of mind for very little cost.
