Why Stage Your Miami Home?

by Isaac Benmergui, Esq on February 21, 2013

Room w windowsThose picture perfect rooms in magazines are staged to evoke your desire to buy. That’s just one reason why staging your Miami home could mean a quick sale. Potential buyers fall in love with an aesthetic and want to live there, even if that home isn’t their ideal.

What is meant by staging a home?

It means dressing it up. Making it look inviting, fresh and spacious. Professional stagers, although you can do the job yourself, add furniture, take it away or update a few pieces. Stagers may add artwork, homespun details, install drapes or curtains, change the bedding and buy a few plants or fresh flowers.

Staging gives your home an advantage over nearby competing homes. Your home will look newer and fresher, and buyers will believe they are getting a better home for their money.

Before you list your property, take a look around your house. Could your home benefit from staging? You can ask friends and relatives to help you by donating items or allowing you to borrow them. After you add or subtract items, ask a friend or relative how your house looks to them. Make adjustments, and then call your realtor. They may also have a few ideas. Remember it’s all an effort to increase the number of interested buyers, and eventually sell your home.
