Foreclosure Stalls City Place Leasing

by Isaac Benmergui, Esq on November 2, 2011

West Palm’s jewel of dining and entertainment, the popular CityPlace hit a leasing snag as a foreclosure lawsuit was filed. Franchisees looking to open new locations can’t negotiate leases for their new space.

Previously the economic downturn forced CityPlace to shift its intended purpose of high-end shopping to one focused primarily on dining and entertainment. Although CityPlace cites a rise of 7 percent in the number of visitors in the last 2 years, it hasn’t been enough to meet the mortgage payments.
