His first order of business will be to lengthen the first hole by 100 yards, as Donald Trump take ownership of the Doral Golf Resort and Country Club outside of Miami in June. He real estate financier and media mogul purchased the Doral out of bankruptcy for $100 million and promised “to make Doral really great by “spending a lot of money.”

Renovations include the 700 guest rooms and a redesign of the resort’s four golf courses, including the challenging Blue Monster, known for its unique water hazards. Trumps believes the Doral’s location to Miami and the city’s international appeal will draw wealthy golfers from around the world.

Trump noted that the budget for the renovations is unlimited and he has no plans to flip the property as it had changed hands several times in the past few years. Trump plans on “keeping it in the family.” The property’s closing is set in June and Trump plans on keeping the resort open while renovations continue. Trump states “this is a great thing for Miami.”
