Bank of America Spikes Relocation Aid to $30,000

by Isaac Benmergui, Esq on June 1, 2012

In a program that was first tested with the Florida housing market, delinquent mortgage customers who complete a qualifying short sale are eligible to receive as much as $30,000 to relocate.

In the last two years, Bank of America mortgage customers completely 200,000 short sales and more than 30,000 in the first quarter of 2012. In order to qualify for relocation assistance, mortgage owners must cooperate with the bank to obtain a preapproved sales price. The sale must be initiated by the end of 2012 and completed by September 26, 2013. The amount of assistance will depend on the value of the home and the amount still owed, as well as other conditions.
